2017 July 21 - Editor-in-Chief Sandra Tyler reviews Out of Bounds at The White Room Gallery: "Joan Giordano over the years has pushed the boundaries of medium, and in surprising amalgams—many of her metal works, for instance, combine the less resilient of metals with paper. The works featured at the White Room represent how she can span the spectrum of paper as a medium. “Magical Thinking” is a stunning work of newspaper and corrugated cardboard, but also encaustic, paint, graphite and Krylov:"'

Exhibition Review: Woven In Time/ Sculpture,  2017 March  byThaliaVrachopoulos, PHD

Joan Giordano’s Grand Gestures, Sculpture

"Giordano’s Woven in Time exhibition at June Kelly Gallery in Soho speaks both to historic art and post-modern phenomena. Her constructions straddle the boundaries of painting, collage and sculpture in their formal means that can be compared to Kurt Schwitters’ Merz assemblages or Ellsworth Kelly’s 1956-57 wall reliefs. Giordano uses newspaper/magazine texts with which to maintain her ongoing engagement in socio-cultural concerns such as the Wiki leak scandal. The sculptural relief Free Press in its very title betrays Giordano’s interest in justice and that like Honore Daumier’s Freedom of the Press: Don’t Meddle With It expresses content meant as warning. In their satirical sometimes scathing use of double entendre and while dedicating themselves to human dignity, both artists help sustain honesty and fairness.

Although Giordano’s sculptures are wrought with meaningful textual content, they are also extremely beautiful and expertly made artworks. They expand across the gallery walls gaining power in their culmination by curving rhythmically in Giordano’s inimitably grand style. "
