The inherent qualities of the materials I work with is important to the concept of my work. Copper, contained within the earth for thousands of years is seemingly ageless. Paper too is from the earth as it is made from plants and held together with cellulose from the plant itself. We believe paper is fragile but it has great strength. Sealing it with wax adds an additional layer to the surface quality. Wax was widely used in Egypt for the preservation of mummies. Copper and paper are the material manifestations I have chosen to describe the strength and vulnerability of humanity.
